Damian Howard and the Ploughboys CD Release Show with Special Guests Cousin Leonard

A much anticipated night of great original Australian Country, Roots, Rock and Folk featuring Damian Howard & The Ploughboy's CD launch of "Öut of My Hands" and with special guests The Re-Mains on Friday 19th March at the Thornbury Theatre.
Damian Howard & The Ploughboy's much anticipated new studio CD release features the song "Out of My Hands" which has been described by international critics ".... They get the rowdy crowd singing along to one of their songs Out of My Hands like it's a time honoured classic...."
Damian Howard and the Ploughboys have toured extensively throughout Australia and Europe in 2008 and 2009 culminating in performances at major festivals throughout the UK, Ireland, Scotland and Denmark including the legendary Hebridean Celtic Festival on the Isle of Lewis, in Scotland. This performance was filmed and broadcast on BBC TV throughout the UK and they have received huge responses to their performances. In addition to their busy touring schedule OS they have performed throughout Australia at many major festivals and venues.
The CD launch at the Thornbury Theatre is really a return home from "whence we came" after many months and infact years of touring and will be a great night to be tasted, savoured and definitely not to be missed!

Cousin Leonard write music that harks back to our islander childhood growing up in FIJI, reaching across to the gentle up-beat of Reggae and soaking in the musical & turbulent political revolutionary period of the late 60s /early 70s. Crosby Stills & Nash , Simon & Garfunkle, Marvin Gay, Bill Withers, Joan Armatrading, Ray Lamontagne, Michael Franti & Neil Young are some kindred spirits.

We love vocal harmony, play guitars, bass, percussion, trigger loops and blow some mean trombone, as well as getting the audience up to join in, live and spontaneous!

Our recordings reflect this live/acoustic based experience through to more densely layered, experimental & collaborative studio work.

..........aaah music is indeed magic, and This Life is a Beautiful Thing!!! .............................Play On.............
